In my opinion, a photorealistic Lion King can work, but only if they treat it like the action adventure fantasy that it is, not like it's a nature documentary (which is what the 2019 remake did)

I know that Jon Favreau wanted a photorealistic setup, but it fell short in conveying the emotions Lion King is known for It's the successor to 2019's photorealistic/animated The Lion King ($1.6B international box office), which was the live-action version of the 1994 traditionally animated The Lion King ($981M).

I loved it and thought it was a worthy companion to the almost universally beloved original animated.
